Here's the black tundra I got after the silver one was totaled. This one also has spark knock. Changed plugs coils new o2s and cats over from the other truck too. Still has spark knock a bit cleaned mass airflow pcv valve and added gas treatment with some midgrade fuel hope the knock goes away now. This truck definitely has the power my other one lacked and talked them down to $10,800 new rollnlock and linex too :-) 87506

Can you make a video of this spark knock you speak of? I am at a loss on this one.

Nice looking truck there - how many miles and what year?

Wow looks really nice and we need more pics. :) It appears to be an 04 from the corner lights. I have a pair of smoked out OEM corners for the 04 that I am thinking about selling since I don't use them. They might look better on your black color than on mines. PM me if you are interested. I might still have the smoked out tails as well.

Its an 04 dc 4x4 . 141648 miles I might be interested in the lights gotta see pics ill add more pictures of the Knight Rider when it has a bath. So far happy with the truck I think the power steering is bad makes lots of noise but it may just be because of the rims not sure. I would take video of the spark knock but I don't wanna mess up this truck I its gotta be the knock sensors it doesn't do it as bad now after the tune up but its there. Wish there was somebody in my area who could look at it

PM me your email and I'll send you pics of the lights when I get a chance.

With that mileage it is likely that the power steering fluid has never been flushed. If it is making a slight groaning/whining noise then a series of drain and fills should take care of it. Mine was making noise and two or three drains and fills did the trick. I used Toyota T-IV transmission fluid.

Just pull off the top hose from the power steering reservoir and have a catch pan or jar ready for the fluid that will come out of both the hose and the top nipple of the reservoir. I have a spare length of 3/8 tubing that I put on the top nipple and tie up above the reservoir to keep fluid from coming out of there. Have the front end jacked up enough for the wheels to clear the ground or put cardboard under them before you pull the hose to make it easier to turn the steering wheel. Put the end of the return hose (that you pulled off the top nipple) into a catch container and have your replacement fluid at the ready.

Key on first click to unlock the steering lock and turn the wheel all the way left and all the way right (truck OFF). Replace the fluid as the level in the reservoir goes down. Turning the steering wheel from lock to lock will get most of the dirty fluid out of there. Put everything back together and start truck to make sure all the connections are secure and that the fluid level is correct. I think I drove about 4 or 5k miles before I heard it making noise again. I repeated the above procedure and drove about 10k miles before doing it again - no problems since. The fluid coming out was as filthy as used motor oil and my theory is that the fresh detergents in the new fluid started cleaning things out in there and as the contamination level of the fluid rose the noise came back. Since mine had never been done it took several drains and fills to get it cleaned out. It may be that I need another session next year and I plan to do this once a year from now on.

Is this something a guy could use auto-rx on before all the flushing also?

You asked how to stop the squeaking of the front bushings, & the link I sent to you answers your question if you bother to read it.

Thanks guys. Ever since I got the truck my girlfriend has had to wake up in the middle of the night to pull me away from it . Lol I took it to Toyota yesterday to have them look at it to give me an opinion on it for the clunks I was hearing and the spark knock. They said they tightend the R/F lower control arm bolts 1 1/2 turns and lubed the steering stops this they did free. Said spark knock was being caused by plug ged charcoal filter. Popped it out when I got home and still have spark knock. Also told me to get an alignment. Told me the timing belt has never been changed. Guess im buying a kit soon. Truck doesn't clunk now. :-).
