Just took ownership of a 2012 Limited Sequoia.

I was wondering about the stock Dunlop Sport 5000 in the winter time? I read that the Dunlops are absolutely horrific in wet weather/ snow. I live in Pittsburgh which is very hilly. Just to get to my neighborhood, I have to go up several steep hills. What has everyone's experience been with the stock Dunlop tires in winter time? I have some P255/70R-17 inch Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 (only 2000 miles on them) that I used on my prior SUV which was only front wheel drive, unfortunately I do not think they will fit on the Sequoia. This is my first 4 WD vehicle and wonder if I can get away with the stock tires.

I'd recommend picking up another set of wheels/tires vs. trying to use the Dunlop during winter. The base Toyota Tundra comes with 255/70/18 tires which is what I use during winter. For your tires to work you'd need to find a set of 17" wheels that fit the Tundra/Sequoia, for example the TRD Rock Warrior wheels, your tire size is not 100% accurate but there is no reason it wouldn't work until you wear out these tires and pick up another set or All Terrain tires like the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2.

The Dunlops are the single worst tire I have ever experienced for winter use. I could not get them off my Sequoia fast enough and into a set of Michelin LTX's. I was pretty disappointed that Toyota would put a tire like this on a vehicle that is obviously going to be sold in some areas that experience winter.

Thanks. I think I'm going to try to sell my 17 inch Blizzaks and get some 18 inch ones instead for the winter time.
