: Looking for PICS of 1st gen 2WD Tundras with lifts viclava 06-14-2012, 04:28 PM Hoping to see some lifted 2wd's out here. I have always had 4x4's where I live and never hardly used the 4WD capability. SO, I decided to buy a 2005 SR5 Access cab with the 4.7, and was wondering if anyone has lifted one, what size tires, and how hard was it to lift.
Thanks in advance,
Scott L. 08TexasTundra 06-14-2012, 06:11 PM I used to own a lifted 2003 SR5 Acces Cab T3 Edition Tundra. I put the Rough Country 4.5" lift which consisted of a subframe and rear blocks. Also, I put the Fabtech 2.5" coil over lift and 2 add-a-leafs for a total of 7 inches of lift in the front and the truck sat level. Last but not least and something that really helped with the camber in the front from the combo of subframe and coilover combo was the Total Chaos UCAs.87636876378763887639 I had 16" Pro Comp wheels(I forget which ones exactly) and Pro Comp Mud Terrain 35" 12.50 R16 tires. I had the lift installed by a friends dad in his driveway. He was a certified mechanic and it took him 3 days as he only did mechanic work on the side.
The ride was great, it got through everything that my buddies 4WD Ford F-150 Extended Cab would make it through(So long as there wasn't a big climb to get out of the mud). The only time I had a problem getting stuck was getting high centered in the real deep ruts.
Here are some pictures of the truck before and after.
Hope this helps. Oh and the total cost was insane, about 4 grand including wheels, tires, both lifts, add-a-leafs, speedo recalibration module, Total Chaos UCAs(Upper Control Arms), and install.
Wish I could do the same with my 2008 Tundra Crewmax, but all my money seems to be going to my new Harley...O well...one vehicle at a time haha. Good luck with finding a lift you lift and welcome to the community!! 08TexasTundra 06-14-2012, 06:13 PM Oh and it was literally done in that driveway(the one with the stock picture) haha. 08TexasTundra 06-14-2012, 06:14 PM And correction, after looking at the pictures reminiscing I noticed that the sub frame lift was Tuff Country, not Rough Country. Thanks SuckersWalk 06-15-2012, 06:31 PM not mine

Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app viclava 06-16-2012, 08:14 AM Harrison, very nice truck. That's what I'm looking for. Not a huge lift, but some more clearance for bigger tires. What was your cost for the lift? SuckersWalk 06-16-2012, 12:13 PM Forgive my ignorance, but I'm new to Tundra's, but what are AC-5100's and 4th notch? What size tires you have on there?
Scott
AC = Access Cab (DC would be Double Cab)
5100s = Bilstein 5100 shocks (fronts are adjustable and increase ride height)
4th notch = Setting his Bilstein 5100 shocks are set at. HarrisonsTRD 06-16-2012, 12:17 PM The lift was about 280 from toytec.. You might need wheel spacers for the front if you go wide, but there not bad... You can get em on ebay for about 80 for a pair.. And thank you! Its my baby

Thanks! ^_^ donstundra2005 06-26-2012, 08:16 PM This is my Tundra. I kept it simple. I installed 3" Donahoe Coilovers, which i was able to spin up to 3-1/4" of lift. I prefer the front "popped up" look. It allowed me to install 33" BFG's. I also bought 16x8 Mickey Thompson wheels that I had powder coated flat black. 87983 donstundra2005 06-26-2012, 08:24 PM Hopefully this is a bigger picture87985 viclava 06-28-2012, 07:58 AM Oh man, very nicely done trucks.
