2004 Toyota Tundra OEM. I have been having a dull clicking noise in the front end that I am pretty confident it is coming from the front passenger wheel area. This has been going on for a few weeks, but just a very slight click/vibration. I jacked the truck up about a week ago and looked at both wheels(left & right), felt/heard no clicking when freely rotating and the wheel was rigid when I tried to wiggle it top/bottom, side-to-side. When I put all back together and drove it, the noise was more pronounced and when I would give it a swerve to the right it gets louder and more of a vibration is felt.

My thoughts are wheel bearing, however, today I took both wheels apart down to the hub and have spun them and wiggled them extensively and can get no play, no clicking, no scrapping, nothing out of them. So I am pretty much lost now. This noise is definitely going along with rotation, it is heard faster the faster I drive, and slower the slower I drive. Does anyone have any thoughts on this situation I am having. I can't see how it would be any suspension issues. Does anyone think it could be the power steering pump, I'm not sure if it would be affected by a right turn differently than a left turn. Need some kind of direction.

Thanks!

Four wheel drive or two? If four wheel drive it is very possible that it is a bearing but they usually growl or grind when they go bad. Clicking could be the CV joint.

It is 2 wheel drive so no CV joint. It doesn't sound like CV joint noise. It is too "specific" of a noise. Like it is two pieces of metal knocking as the wheel is turning. I cannot see anything though. It's crazy. I took out the ABS sensor and it looks clean as does the spindle it senses. There are no metal shavings or pieces behind the grease cap that leads to the bearing, it is very clean in there.

Update...I reassembled both wheels drove the truck and no noise at all. I am at a loss of words. Might have fixed it, but I'll have to go a week without hearing before I am convinced. If it is, I do not know what I did, I only took it apart down to the hub and then reassembled.

Who knows could've been a rock stock in there someplace.

Just keep driving until it breaks. Then you'll know.
