Can it be done? Both are non-JBL and my 02 tundra radio just died. I found the 06 unit for 50 bucks and it looks CLEAN. I like a few of the extra features on the 06 one too like the CD text ability, etc. Plus, I think it just looks cleaner. No cassette. My 02 Tundra radio looks like this: http://www.autowrecking.com/part-photos/just-parts/id/3240477/photo/1

The one I want to install is this: http://www.kigmaradioshop.com/media/01/a20791612f5056923f70c2_m.JPG

Are the wiring harnesses, mounting brackets, etc, compatible with each other? Also, with the newer deck, I was considering installing wheel controls. Any insight on that?

Thanks in advance.

Would also consider installing a deck like this too: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-2006-Toyota-Tundra-Radio-Stereo-CD-Tape-Player-16859-86120-0C060-05-06-OEM-/160783538857?hash=item256f721aa9&item=160783538857&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr#ht_2030wt_1141

I'm not sure if it will fit for you BUT if does, then these Scion models should as well and they have even more features T1808 or T1809. I had a stock radio, replaced it with an 1808 and now have an 1809 because of the pre-outs. They were direct swaps (plug and play) into my '06. Check eBay for deals.
