I wanted to see if any of you guys have tried this and can comment on the success of its outcome.

Basically I wanted to be able to play an ipod/iphone/ipad on the rear entertainment system for the kids. Using the factory Audiovox ADV300 component inputs, theoretically I could just get a cable (ipod connector to av component) to be able to run the audio and video to the monitor.

Anyone try this yet?

That will work. I can do that on my 07. Plug the ipod into the video in ports and select that source on the DVD remote. Plays though the head phones. I'm trying to find a way to play the ipod through the video in and get the sound in the rest of the vehicle.
