I've read so many threads on this subject this week but I still feel compelled to start a new thread so I apoligize up front. I'm installing the 9980HD in a 2008 Crewmax with the flip down back up set up already installed. My understanding is that for taping into the already functional power line to the camera, i need to install a voltage regulator to drop from 12v to 6v. My question is related to the voltage. Since my camera is already being powered from the factory set up, and the camera is not wired into the Head Unit (is this correct?), why do I need to adjust the power supply? All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
