Just a note to those who may have missed the group buy. I called Hellwig today and they said they have a few more bars in stock and they will still honor the $150 plus shipping deal.

Call Hellwig and ask for Nancy at 1-800-367-5480. Hellwig is based in CA and work typical business hours (not open on the weekends) so please factor that into when you call. Tell her that you are part of the Tundra Solutions group buy.

I can't wait to feel the improvement.

I wished I would have seen your thread earlier, I just paid $159 for one from JC Whitney. I did get free shipping though, so I guess the price was about the same.

Thanks,
Jeff

Color: Default color is black, but red is available. If you want a red bar, you must specify when ordering.

Shipping Time: Orders should be out of Hellwig within 3-4 days plus UPS's estimated time depending on where you live. Red bars may take slightly longer.

Actually you may have received the better deal. The deal from Hellwig is $150 + Shipping. For me in Houston the quote I just got from Hellwig for the GB was $190 including $40 for shipping. Decided to order same from JCW for $178 including shipping. Delta = $12 which I will use for gas to pull the Tundra out of the garage for bar installation. ;)

So, how easy is this to install???

I've heard it's pretty easy...do I need to jack up my truck prior to installation???

Thanks,
Mike

Easy. It may require some fiddlin', but just fussy stuff, not real technical stuff.

I'd like to get one, but I'm not too comfortable messing around under my truck. Is there any jacking-up of the truck required?

You may have to jack one side or the other an inch or two to align the bar for connecting the end links.

i read all the rave reviews about this bar so i installed one on my 05 DC. i can not tell one difference. what is the deal? is it because i have a DC? are the improvements to the SC's? i really could not tell one change at all. what was it suppose to do? did i install it incorrectly, but i don't see how i could have done that, pretty straight foward install.:(

Something must be wrong......I installed one on my 05 DC and the difference is HUGE. I can corner so much tighter with none of that feeling that I'm holding myself up against the truck. Way better performance when cornering....

The changes should actually be more noticeable with a DC due to the larger mass. The changes will be even more pronounced if you have a canopy on the back which adds more weight high up.

The bar reduces body roll or as I call it "wobbly ass-end syndrome". The changes should be noticable on tight corners and any corner at higher speed such as freeway ramps etc. The truck should remain flatter with less lean in the rear end of the truck. My DC used to wallow through corners where I could feel the rear end really leaning in the curve. Now it remains much flatter and I don't have that unstable feeling.
