: Sup! New to the Tundra world ^_^

Hey there. I just recently purchased a 2003 extended cab Tundra after my old work truck, a 1994 Toyota pickup, finally blew its head gasket hehe. I was going to purchase another beater, but I got such an unbelievable deal on this one that I couldn't pass it up.

I'm very involved in the performance car world. I've previously owned a stage 4 WRX and I now own a heavily heavily modified Subaru WRX STI whose motor recently blew and is awaiting it's custom 2.8L race engine ^_^ I don't have good luck with engines do I? :p

I really really like this truck so far. I was so impressed with how long my last Toyota lasted (240,000 miles) that I figured I couldn't go wrong with this one. It only has the V6, but I don't really do any towing so I'm fine with the lack of power. The interior is comfortable, sound system is decent and the truck rides great.

I know I should probably do a search for my questions, but I'm tired and hungover from this weekend. Plus, this will give you guys an excuse to reply to my thread =D

I'm REALLY REALLY trying to stay away from modifying this car as it's my daily driver. I'd like to do mostly cosmetic stuff on this one, maybe an intake and exhaust at the most performance wise if these trucks respond well to those. Any advice on what intakes/exhausts work well with the V6? Any weak points in the truck overall I should know about? Suggestions for cool cosmetic stuff I could do aside from like debadging? I'm debating doing a subwoofer / custom stereo install of some kind too and am curious if anyone has any experience with flush-mounted or hidden sub boxes in a Tundra.

Thanks for reading! Here's a few pics of the new whip:

EDIT: PS that cap is for sale in the classifieds section if anyone is interested ! ^_^

New rims . Anything that you like would look great on that truck; anything but the stockers if that's what you want to do anyway.

Nice yeah, I'm definitely debating new rims and tires. I'd like something with reasonably aggressive tread since this particular truck doesn't have 4WD =/

So far I'm thinking along the lines of:
Brushguard for the front
OSRAM Silverstars from Britain if I can find any that work for this truck
Smoke the tail lights?
Clear / custom paint the headlights like I did on my old WRX

A friend of mine has a Limited Tundra with the wood grain trim package. It looked pretty sweet, but I'm thinking it would be an expensive option to purchase from a dealer. I found tons of those stick on wood grain plastic pieces on ebay, but I can't see those working too well. Anyone done a trim swap in your Tundra?

Oh, my truck came with a busted out rear sliding window also:

Because I lowballed the dealer so bad on the price, I agreed to get it repaired myself. Little did I know, any glass place was quoting me like $500-$700 to fix it! ?!? Apparently you can't just buy that sliding glass window piece, you have to replace the entire rear windshield.....

So what did I do? Went to Home Depot, bought a small $12 sheet of Lexan, had one of my punchout guys cut it to my specs, bought a $10 tint kit and booya! New sliding window! I dont have any pics of it, but it looks decent enough. The only downside is that I have to find a way to lock it :tu:
