: Toyota Pick-up From Back To The Future OnePremiere 06-27-2006, 01:05 AM Ok for a second i thought she was a nissian....
Anyone have any details on this truck?
Model Year Package....
I really really love this oldschool truckk OnePremiere 06-27-2006, 02:21 AM http://www.imcdb.org/images/003/742.jpg OnePremiere 06-27-2006, 02:22 AM http://www.imcdb.org/images/029/063.jpg copperhead 06-30-2006, 12:37 PM It's a 1985. You can tell because it has a solid front axle, and EFI decals on the side. '85 was the last year for solid front, and the first for EFI. Justang 07-07-2006, 11:30 PM The BTTF trilogy is my favorite movie series. I pretty much know them by heart. My GF hates watching them with me.
Check out that 4x4. That's hot (Marty says it way before Paris Hilton tried to claim it as her own... witch). Someday, Jennifer, wouldn't it be great to take that truck up to the lake, throw a couple of sleeping bags in the back. Lie under the stars.
*he rubs her tummy, and she says stop... but she likes it*
Does your mom know about tomorrow night?
No, get out of town, my mom thinks I'm going camping with the guys. My mother would freak out if she knew I was going up there with you. And I get the standard lecture about how she never did that kind of stuff when she was a kid. I think the woman was born a nun.
She's just trying to keep you respectable.
She's not doing a very good job.
*He goes in for the kill*
SAVE THE CLOCK TOWER! Save the clock tower...
That should be pretty accurate. I could keep going... it's a little pathetic... whats worse is I'm probably gonna put the movie in right now.
And a little insight to how big of a nerd I am. That truck is one of the reasons I bought a black Tundra. Hmm, can't believe I'm admitting that. ashgwan 08-12-2006, 10:41 AM Yea its a 1985, its the same as the European MK2 HI LUX, Loads of them around over the pond here, as i understand they are quite rare in the USA. If anyone has any more photos of it id love them.
Cheers Ash john4wd 08-23-2006, 07:24 PM I've been doing some studing of the truck from BTTF and I think they used 3 or more of them for different shots. In the first movie when the toy showed up on the rollback wreaker it was a 85 with a single tube rollbar and it looks like a single tube when he opened the garage and from one of the sceens when truck was going away from the camera, when the camera was shot from above on the left. And the toy in garage had front licence plate and no covers on lights. And the close up of the truck with Marty and Jennifer it was a double tube and in a couple other shots it looks like the truck has an indepentent suspension you can see the lower A-Arms, which means it was bought to be used in the part II (1989) and part III (1990). And one close up with Marty in drivers seat you can see it's an 1985 with leaf springs. In the Part III (1990) you can see they put on light covers and then the front licence plate is gone. I may be wrong, and or I may be right. We can argue about it for years and never really know. But I believe there were 3 or more used. But the origanal (On the rollback and in the garage) is an 85 with EFI and a single tube rollbar and another 85 with a double tube and another one with independent suspension. And they used all 3 for different shots. When they edited the movies. Well that's my opinion. I've watch all 3 movies and looked at the 7 pics from this thread.
John... Tennesseestorm 09-24-2006, 07:20 PM You have a keen eye. I never noticed until you mentioned, but you can see the differences in the photos above (at least some of them). Yeah, I am sure that the truck used in BTTF 1 was a 1985, not only because of the features mentioned, but the movie also was released and/or filmed in 1985. crisp 09-25-2006, 07:45 AM And a little insight to how big of a nerd I am. Don't worry, that movie (also one of my all time fav's) IS the reason I currently own a '94 (black) 4x4 xcab. The movie came out when I was in highschool, and I SWORE someday I'd have a truck JUST LIKE IT!
Now I do. (I wonder how many TOYOTA 4x4's that movie alone is responsible for selling?)
- crisp :D SCtoyotaowner 10-11-2006, 10:44 AM I was thinking of painting my '85 xcab black to match BTTF's! I too fell in love with the 'yota. chilehead 10-27-2006, 07:12 PM haha... ok, i'm crazy, but not too crazy, i guess... that movie was the reason I wanted a truck too, but I wasn't dead set on a black one.... too hard to keep clean! :D BUT, that is why I now own a Tundra >.< MrFixit365 11-24-2006, 09:07 PM guess what i have one over on the farm but its not in great shape ill get some pictures of it sometime soon Atreides 11-25-2006, 10:31 PM Don't worry, that movie (also one of my all time fav's) IS the reason I currently own a '94 (black) 4x4 xcab. Add at least one more, I was 6 years old when I first saw BTTF. A Toyota 4X4 became the only vehicle I wanted from then on. Got a 93 4X4 when I was 16. Sold it last January after 11 years and 145,000 trouble free miles when I purchased my 4WD Tundra DC. It was very difficult to let that truck go. Could'nt convince my wife that insurance, registration, and upkeep on a "toy" was justified. oldschool ORV 12-10-2006, 08:50 PM i too, have become obsessed with the bttf movies, and more importantly the truck. i have a remote control car that i painted black so it looks like the bttf 4x4, and i've always wanted to get the real thing. somebody who parks in the student neighborhood at my university has one, and the thought of placing a note on his windshield with an offer to buy it has crossed my mind many a time. this one is off-white, but the body is in surprisingly good shape, and it would be a fun project to renovate it to look like the one from bttf. should i ever give into my wild, hairbrained ideas, any ideas of a price i should offer? icehawk 12-11-2006, 01:39 PM it is a 85 toyota

22R motor, solid front axle.
I beleive 85 was the last year of the solid front axle pickups. after that they went with the IFS. 08SalsaMax 01-08-2011, 02:20 PM Here you go....
