I was wanting to purchase some new wheels and tires for my Xb and was thinking of going with 195/65 R15 instead of 195/60 R15...any thoughts or issues with the 65 instead of 60. Also I was thinking of going with Goodyear Assurance ComforTred or Goodyear Assurance TripleTred.

Any thoughts or feedback?

In doing some additional research at ScionLife.com, it looks like I should stay with 195/60 R15. I also found 195/60TR15 Yokohama AVID TRZ Blackwall tires at the TireRack that seem to be rated pretty good with a good price. Does anyone have any feedback on the size & tire?

Here is some info I have collected on what can be used:

185/60R15 Goodyear Eagle LS (OEM)
185/65R15 (1/2” higher)
BFG 185/65TR15 Traction T/A - Good ride, good in rain.
195/60R15 (wider)
195/65R15 (wider, higher)
205/55R15 (wider, same height)
Falken Ziex 512 195/60R15 - Smoother, crisper cornering and handling (Sears).
Goodyear Assurance Comfortred – best ride, sacrifice handling and mpg.

I plan on going to 195/65 when my Goodyear Eagle LS tires wear down, for two reasons:
1. The 195 is a little wider, will help traction and cornering.
2. The 65 is a little higher, the same diameter as the tires on the bB, and is what the speedo is calibrated for.

The Comfortred has a rubber separation layer between its steel plies, which gives a soft ride with good bump absorption (marshmallows), but with poorer handling and a 1-2 mpg penalty.

Someone was very pleased with the BFG 185/65TR15 Traction T/A and the Falken Ziex 512 195/60R15.

I will probably go with 195/65 Goodyear Eagle GT tires.
