I have a 2005 RX330 with Navigation System and Bluetooth phone capability. My cell phone carrier is Sprint and I have a Bluetooth phone that does sync with the bluetooth in the car. I have not been able to get my Phone Book to download to the car. Has anyone been able to accomplish this? If so, can you tell me how to do it.

Thanks!

Lexus has an approved list of specific cell phone models that work with their Bluetooth equipped vehicles. Yu didn't specify which Sprint PCS phone yu have.:(

And, I have heard of others in general who are unable to get phonebook to transfer to system even with lexus approved Bluetooth compatible phones.

Remember, that yu also have limited access to Bluetooth features while the vehicle is in motion as stated in the owners manuals.:)
Is this your issue?

Thanks LifeTech.

My phone is an LG Picture Phone PM-325. I will check to see if this is on the approved list by Lexus.

The problem is that the phone book will not download from the phone to the car. The download just doesn't work. I was hoping that someone knew how to get the phone book in, even if it's manual.

I have a friend that owns BMW's and Acura's and also has Sprint as his carrier. The phone books downloaded and he has voice activated dialing while driving and also touchscreen dialing. I'd settle for any part of that. Sure don't want to give my Lexus for it though.

as you know bluetooth is basically a protocol for devices to communicate with one another. there are many things a bluetooth phone can do, but not all phones can do them. your particular phone does not have the ability to transfer multiple phonebook entries, and frankly not many phones do. the voice activation is part of the nav side of things, youll have to set it up for each entry, but its pretty simple. to use the touchscreen just press the call button on the steering wheel, but you can only call your speed dial numbers that you set up on the nav unit while driving.
