I'm this close to buying my first 4x4 pickup a 97 t100..I've always had awd cars (subies actually and still do) but they don't make a larger pickup darnit.

I thought I'd start out with the older Tacoma or T100/Tundra 97> with around 100k or so if it's been well taken care,this one is very nice with just over 100k. My major issue with the older trucks, finding one which has had timing belts changed otherwise I'll have to have it done but at what cost??

How much larger is a 97 T100 then a LB Tacoma.

Please offer any suggestions or comments on what I should look for mechanically..items known to fail etc.

I can't think of a better place to start this quest then this forum
