After buying my 1993 T-100 last year, I noticed that the right rear taillight lens is cracked and busted. The rain has rusted out the brake light socket to the point where the brake light wire falls out of the back of the socket. The new wire harness cost me around $30 at the dealership. Not too bad... ;)

What I wanna know is how many of you have tried taking the lens off of the taillight assembly to repaint the reflector areas with a chrome silver paint. I noticed there are 6 phillips screws holding the lens in place as well as some rubbery adhesive. I've bought a used taillight assembly from Car-Parts.com fer about $28 shipped...so tearing this one apart and experimenting with it shouldn't be a problem. I guess I should've asked the dealership if they just sell the lens vs the entire assembly...

Got the replacement in today...the lens isn't perfect but it's not cracked...the back part is though. :(

Gonna try a few tricks to remove the adhesive from old taillight body and the lens since the body isn't cracked. Any suggestions? Some have said to use boiling water... I might try something like Goo-Gone or acetone if it doesn't kill the body or lens... ;)
