Panama City Toyota, along with the American Muscle Car Club, Bay British Car Club, Bay Mustang Club, Christian Rods & Customs, Classic Cruisers, Emerald Coast Corvette Club, Hot Wheels Car Club, Panama City Antique Automobile Club, Son’s of the Beach, Vital Signs Car Club and the Outlaws Car Club will be holding the largest car show /drag race of the year on Saturday Sept. 8Th, at the Breakaway Dragway. We will be showing and racing the All New 2007 Tundra along with hundreds of custom and classic vehicles from surrounding areas to raise money for local charities.
The festivities will actually begin at Friday Fest, Sept. 7Th, at 5 p.m. Friday Fest is a large festival that’s held on Harrison Ave. in the old downtown area of beautiful Panama City, Florida. On the first Friday of every month Harrison Ave. is closed off to traffic from 4Th st to 6Th st at 5pm. Then hundreds of show cars and custom rides line both sides of the streets where people begin to fellowship. They have several bands and vendors present to enhance your nights visit. Panama City Toyota will also be one of the sponsors of this First Friday. We will be bringing in a display called Toyota Nascar Pit Pass Experience. This display has Nascar driving simulators, Nascar Toyota Show Vehicles as well as other things for race fans to enjoy. Panama City Toyota will also be bringing a couple decked out 2007 Tundras that will be used at the show/race the next day. This night usually ends around 9pm.
Saturday Sept. 8Th, at noon, vehicles wishing to participate in Th show/race will begin to register at Panama City Toyota. Registration is open until 2pm. You do not have to register at the dealership to attend/participate, however the procession to the track along with a couple hundred cars will be a lot of fun ! The Breakaway Dragway is a IHRA 1/8 mile strip located about 39 miles north of Panama City off Hwy 231 North. It is a very nice racing facility with the best burgers, clean restrooms, polite workers and paved roads the entire way. Don't forget, Sept.8Th, no admission fee for spectators and family! There is plenty of parking
for those trailering cars as well.
At the track, at 3pm, is where the real fun begins! Those registered will be allowed to participate in a show and/or race their vehicle at the track all day. It cost $10 to race, $10 to race or $20 for both with all monies collected from registration going to local charities selected by The Bay County Car Club Coalition (BC4). Please bring a helmet to wear for racing.(Insurance Regulation).
We will also have a Off Road Driving Course for fans to drive The New Tundra along with our competitors trucks, allowing you to compare for yourselves. There will also be many mind blowing demonstrations by the All New Tundra on the track proving that it's Toughest 1/2 TON Truck Ever.
Other plans include:
a. The Nascar Toyota Pit Pass Fan Experience
b. Children's play area with a 32ft inflatable obstacle course, inflatable 22ft slide, inflatable 4 in 1 bounce room and a volley ball set.
c. T-Shirts, Plaques and Prizes
d. Music

Directions to Track:

Take Hwy 231 N out of Panama City approx 25 miles

to Hwy 167 turn right

Travel about 1/4 mile to Hwy 274 and turn right

Travel about 3 miles to Apache Rd. and turn right

Breakaway Dragway is at the end of Apache Rd.

Was thinking about going down to Laguna Beach sometime in the next 2-3 weeks anyway, so I might can make it a little earlier as I would like to see this.
