Default Reputable Dealer in MontgomeryAL

I'm moving from the DC area to Alabama later this month and am wondering where I should get service done. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I live in Auburn which is 50 miles away. Lynch Toyota is the local dealer and I know a lot of the guys in the service/parts department which helps. No experience with the dealer in Montgomery, I believe it is Reinheart Toyota.

Thumbs down Re: Reputable Dealer in MontgomeryAL

Well, as it turns out I've been to Reinhart twice now and i'm underwhelmed by the service department. They left me sitting for an hour after setting a specific appointment to look into a clanking sound in my brakes...that they'd replaced the week before. Multiple bays were empty in the garage, and mechanics were either milling around or riding around in a golf cart.

Didn't seem to care that I was there, and even after asking them to let me know if it would take a while since I was going to wait, didn't bother to talk to me for an hour...until I went to find a manager. After a couple of apologies, the situation didn't get any better.

The first time I went in to get the brakes done, I forgot my oil for the change so I asked to verify how many quarts (I'd bought 6 at Costco)...they said 6 then today told me they needed another and after all of the other nonsense (we're at the 2.5 hour point) wouldn't throw in a half quart of oil and wanted to charge me $9 a quart for Mobile 1 5W30. Couldn't duplicate the brake sounds and I had to ask them to look anyway since a brake problem is an obvious safety issue.

Also had no Hunter trained technicians for their 9700 machine and after previous problems w/untrained technicians on my TRD rims I wanted someone who knew what they were doing. Alas, they decided they'd rather let me go elsewhere.

Can't believe how short sighted that is...to save themselves $6 (their cost as i saw their parts guy at NAPA right afterwards as I was buying a quart of oil) they likely lost a customer. To their slight credit, they didn't charge me for labor or a filter...$20 savings.

Been to a lot of Toyota service departments due to multiple moves (military) and I'd have to say this is the worst of the lot. Dingy, dirty, not customer-service oriented...Would NOT recommend them.

Just my opinion...I could be wrong

Sorry you had such a bad experience. I am lucky to have the gearhead gene so I perform all my own maintenance/service work. So far no warranty issues to return to the dealer either. The former service manager of Lynch Toyota, Kent Pierce, was hired by the new Hundai dealership in Auburn. I have known Kent since the mid 80's when I worked the parts department at the Toyota dealership while in school. The service dept has all new equipment, road force balancer and Hunter alignment machine. They are also cheaper than Lynch so I have been taking all of my tire mounting, balance and alignment jobs to him.
