Gorilla, glad to hear the tuning went well for you.

Now, let us know how your mileage is, if it has improved or dropped with the custom tuning??

Also, can you uploas the data sheet that you got with the tuner shop so we can see the actual #s?

Thanks man.

pagaldesi4life-
maybe you didn't understand what i wrote.
my tune didn't go at all.
all it was a dyno of the B map, that is where the power is.

i'm not going through this BS no more, about posting the sheet.
if anyone don't belive it so be it.
but i said it all in the post.

i need a new unichip, so they can redo it.
the unichip computer will NOT allow us in to tune it.
what power i'm getting is from unichip's cuttie cutter.

my Q even though it has all this power more than stock, it can be so much more if i tune it.

so i have to several options, which i will consider at this point.

buy a whole new 1, or send in my old 1. & they will send me a new 1.
i would hate to get a new 1, that makes less power, doesn't work, maybe throws codes, etc.
so ihave to seriously think about this 1.
i think i'm just going to buy a new 1, if i can get it tuned great, and make 300rwhp & rwtorque about 320 than awesome, i'll send them back the old 1. but what if it isn't all that. maybe less with a tune than what i have?????
now i just gave up my old but new unichip.

reread my post about dyno shop JAPTRIX, you might have misunderstood.

hi,
i imagine with a proper tune, my mileage will end up droping.
i can not imagine the #'s i will be getting to gain any mileage.
if that is what anyone of you are looking for ,please look at the group buy in gen2.
they wanted a gain in mileage and cried, that after they dyno'ed there gen2 there HP dropped.
well with all the thing's i have learned, when you increase HP & Torque to the extreme i am going for,
there is no way it will be any gain's.

but i hope to have 300HP to the rear wheel's, & 336foot pounds of torque to the rear wheel's.
in everyway exceeding the stock engine.

so i expect a drop, but my gain's are going to be fun to play with.
imagine the gen2 has 310 to the rear wheel's, & is over 1000 pounds heavy'er.
so i will without a doubt blow there door's off.
although i have beaten 1 before. this will be a whole different BEAST!
remember i have a double cab, not a regular cab, & the gen2 i beat was a crew max 5.7.

so if any of you want to gain mileage please keep it stock. do not attempt to do what i did.
blood , sweat, & tear's went into this build.
just like my 9 second bike. it isn't easy to obtain.

i'm hoping that with the new Q unit,i will have to purchase,
it will be tuned to the spec's of japtrix, it will be a easy tune/dyno run.
unichip promised me, they will be custom tuning my unichip.
this will no cookie cutter.
so i'm keeping my finger's crossed.

please keep in mind, that all tune's need to done, where ever you live,
this way you will guarentee a dead on tune.
do it in the climate you live in.
if you don't, you might have issue's.
good luck to you all,
gorilla

if you send your old unichip back in, will they send you a new one for free or is there a charge?

hi, o've course there is a charge. but honestly i don't care.
no one has a 05/06 tundra 4.7l V8 VVTI UNICHIP dyno sheet,
with the gain's i have on my old Q unchip.

so why would i give it back at this point?
i know it produce's huge gain's, & most importantly ZERO(0) issue's,
no code's, no cell code's, etc. no stalling issue's either.
the A map from on from87 octane to 93 octane,
&
map B run's without any issue's either.
and
produce's 256rwhp & 286 foot pounds of torque.

i know it has produced more than many other's with my mod's.
&
i honestly wouldn't want that 1,because for it to get lost in the shuffel,OUCH!
if you know what i mean.

just read my post's & thread's on my 6hour ordeal at JAPTRIX.
it will honestly help you, no matter what state you live in.
know this watch the a/f ratio when you dyno the tundra,
when the a/f start's to drop from 14.5 down, the HP & torque shoot's up,
when the a/f raio goes back to 14.5 your gain's drop.
the dyno sheet doesn't lie.
regards,
gorilla

hi,
up-date, i just bought another Q- UNICHIP kit.

once it get's all the info that my tuner shop want's programmmed into it.
the programmed unit will be sent out to me.

i will make another appointment for a dyno/tune.
if this 1 work's, at least everyone here in south florida
will know what to tell UNICHIP.
especially if you have the same mod's as i do.
you will not be getting a cookie cutter 1.
you will be able to special order what i have.
or
just have your's dyno'ed, at least you will see what's going on.

sadly this is the real only way to know for sure what's going on.
this is very costly, but i'm so deep into it now,
to turn back ,isn't a option.

as for anyone in a different state, they need to dyno 1st,
so they can see what is going on.

i suggest if you do dyno your tundra w/unichip,
make sure the shop is a authorized unichip tuner shop.
this way, if they see anything , they can get into the computer & fix it.

for you to dyno at 1 place, and than find a unichip tuner shop,
it is throwing your money out the door ,like i did,
just to prove my gain's.
i'll let you know how it goes.
the unichip is being shipped to me, once i recieve it, i have to
call the tuner, to set up an appointment ASAP!
good luck to you all,
gorilla

hello everyone in the southeast, especially florida.
JAPTRIX is & will be my tuner shop.
if anyone is interested in getting there UNICHIP tuned,
please message me.
i will gather a list with your info(name & phone # only)
& foward it to JAPTRIX when i go.
or
you can contact them yourself.
after my tune, hopefully goes well,
i will post all JAPTRIX INFO.
this way you will have a choise.

i will also ask if they will give you UNICHIP owner's,
a the best price on the tune ,that they could.

what i suggest is know exactly what UNICHIP computer module you have.
such as the newest Q, or C ,etc...
and
also know what year, make and model & engine you have.
and all you mod's: such as cai, header's, cat back exhaust, etc...
this info will also help JAPTRIX.
regards,
gorilla

after you get it tuned, PLEASE go to PBIR (formerly Moroso) and run it. I want to see what kind of times you get as I'm sure others will too.

I ran 15.6 when mine was stock.

Have you ever run yours?

hi yep, but i can't talk about it. rules you know.
;-)
let's just say i did beat a hemi, and a gen2 5.7 once.
way before my expected tune.
why don't you meet me at japtrix, you live so close.
i will show you, how fast she is.
& you will be enlighened to what a dyno/tune really is. the right way.
japtrix is off of blue heron blvd.

i will be there once my new q is delivered, & than i can get a appointment
with japtrix. come & see for yourself,
what hp & torque i will be making with the new specific spec's:
from japtrix gave to UNICHIP on my new Q unichip kit.

even i don't know the out come as of yet.
at least my old Q makes what it does.
so i have option's. since i will have 2 unichip's.
come there & bring some flow, and dyno your baby.
after the day at japtrix, i got lunch it's on me.
everyone who show's is welcome.

Very nice Gorilla keep us up to date, and I am curious how everything is going to turn out. By the way, you can post 1/4 mile runs (since its all done on a race track, and not on a street).

Thanks for all updates, and take it easy out there.

hi, if as said here within this thread: a double cab non -modified run's 15.6
i can assume i would run better, it might run high 14's. after the tune.
that's why i want the g-tech RR.
it will give me a good idea. i heard they are almost dead on for:
0 to 60
1/8 of a mile
1/4 of a mile.
0 to 100
but at this point i'm assuming.
my only issue is my tap out speed, is 105mph.
i'm assuming with this new tune, i would reach the 105 point, before the 1/4 of a mile. shutting it down.
what good does that do?
my son know's a few people, up in north florida that can tap into the ecu unit, and disable the limitor's.

from what i have been told ,
is many tuner shop's can do it, but don't want to do it for legal reason's. but it can be done.

i just might buy a used 1 from a salvage yard, and have the disable it. what do i have to lose?
if it work's, awesome.
than we all will know where to go. he lives not far from 1 of our member's.
i bet he might know of these guy's.
the member is apimpdad, that lives not to far away from them.
i forget where my son just moved to. dumb i know.
i have to find out, i found it on the florida map: OCALA

i hope she hold up, & all goes well this time.
this 1 will be set up for the track.
please god, no code's, etc. let it all go well.
i'm hoping for the best here.

p.s. word's of wisdom, better to have tried & failed than to have never tired at all.
if that's true than the 2nd time will go as planned & i'll be good to go, & a winner.
