Sounds like a winner to me too. I'd especially like someone to organize a trip to the area south of Rocky Point for some beach camping if it's still allowed. Late Sep/all Oct is ideal.
I'm down in Tucson as well. I wouldn't mind driving up some weekend.

Hey anybody in the Gilbert area have a spanner wrench or any knowledge about lowering coilovers? Donahoe said i need 8 turns counterclockwise to lower an inch....stupid *** in SD cranked them up all the way and dumb me didnt realize it till last week when my alignment has to be done every month and it rides like a damn wooden board with no shocks
I plan to go camping south of Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) Mexico next Friday afternoon and return on Sunday afternoon. I have an idea where I'd like to camp (beach camping) but we might have to wing it a bit. I take a small boat and fishing gear and some beer along, and plan on campfires and loud talking. I'd like to get onto the second estuary where we always camped, but I haven't been there for some years and dunno if it's an option. We might go a little farther down the beach if we can get through the checkpoint. If anyone wants to meet up we'd like the company. For westenders, we could meet up at the McDonalds in Gila Bend before heading south.
Now that it it somewhat starting to hit under 100 in the daytime, is the Phoenix group have anything planned for a meet in the next two to three months. I know a few people from Vegas who would be willing to make the trek down there.

I could lead a run out Saddle mountain to the petroglyphs If you have the Az road and atlas Saddle mtn is on page 45 @ B-11 or through the belmonts off of 411th ave and camelback road also page 45 but up at A 12 the trail was a 2 track 2x4 capable trail and it crossed the CAP at a not so well know bridge point. It continues through the mountain and ends up at Vulture mine road/355th ave/wickenburg rd. In the narrow pass in the middle was a mine shaft that was wide open and you could actually drive inside, I believe it has since been closed off.
Ok the above are out on west side of Phoenix.
We can do a Cave Creek out 7 Springs up the Sheep Bridge area on the verde river, would not have to cross but its possible and come down and cross below horse shoe if the rivers not running to strong.
The crown king run would require 4x4 so thats out.
Now out by AJ on east side is some trails by florence junction they are nice and ruff.
Plenty of options
