This is a discussion thread titled "Things to do in Denver", within the Southwest forum, part of the News and Events category.
All a man really needs for happiness in this world is a good woman, a faithful dog, and a big-a$$ed set of tires on his truck.

eh, you could check out ROYs resturaunt. its a sister resturaunt of ROYs here in hawaii. menu features mostly the same stuff. bring $80.00 per head to be on the safe side, oh and a collar shirt. idk why it is but in hawaii, you can dress on the causual side at most nice/fine dine resturaunts. ROYs in denver, most peeps seem to like to show off and wear suits and valet their mercedes & porsches.
sorry, idk what else to do there. last time i was there people were mean to me and treated me like sh!t. maybe they thought i was mex or something. i dont think i should have to explain that im mix asian, like it would have helped anyway.
i went to a small pool hall/retail shope a few miles down the road. i asked for a premium table but the operator gave me the "stink eye" and told me none were available, i just saw 2 peeps come off a premium and leave. there were like 8 tables in there and i was one of 2 customers in the joint, the other customer on a premium of course. so i asked what tables ware available and he pointed to 2 coin-op tables. he watched me like a hawk as i proceeded to drop coin and retrieve the balls. as i began to pull the balls onto the table i notice the balls started to move toward the right corner pocket. i asked the operator whats a matter with the table, its listing. he said it needed to be levelled, i told him thanks for making an asss out of me, he smiled and said no problem. i packed up my cue and left the place only to find the front bumper of my rental was all torn to sh!t. it seems that i parked behind big f250 with a trailer hitch. just so happend the 2 fellers that came off the premium table less than 5 mins ago, that was their truck! thats my denver experience.
i have to admit, they do have some hot chics there, but...

...And as a matter of fact, i cant spell.
Might not be much help if you're looking for the best bars, but when we were there back in May, we mostly hung out in the 16th Street mall area -- lots of places to eat, shop, or just hang out. My kiddo was there for a chess tournament down at the convention center, so we were sort've limited by the amount of time between games.
BTW --- Denver has some kick-*** public transportation, we didn't bother to rent a car, and never felt the lack.
Red Rocks is definitely sick!! See if there's a concert there while you're there.
You could go the the Coors Brewery and take the tour. It was all you can drink at the end I believe.

Not all you can drink at Coors, you get 3 small ones at the end of the tour...worth going though. If you like beer, Colorado is the microbrew capital of the world practically, we even have a brewery inside Coors Field called the Sandlot, definately worth a trip there, with several other breweries nearby. The area around Coors Field, called LoDo (Lower Downtown) is full of restaurants/pubs/galleries, etc, great for walking around and very safe. The mountains are a must, Red Rocks as stated.....a quick day trip up to Georgetown on I-70 or gambling in Blackhawk/Central City if you desire, or drive to the top of Mt. Evans, over 14,000 ft, also right off I-70. If you're interested in anything in particular, send a message and I can point you in the right direction.
