Default rear shock for RCD lift

I'm looking at purchasing the RCD lift kit for my truck but I don't want to run the bilsteins that come with it. Does anyone know the size (travel length, extended length, collapsed length) of shock I need? My best guess is that I would need something with about 10" of travel. thanks

Extended length on the rear shock is 27.28” and the collapsed length is 16.34”, so the rear shock has 10.94” of travel.

Awesome! thank you. Since we are on the topic somewhat, anyone try the RCD reservoirs? I'm thinking about getting those or KING resi's.

RCD Reservoirs??? I didn't know there was such and animal...

I had SAW remote reservoirs on my truck with the RCD kit. Herbicidal has them now. You have to go remote, the piggyback will not fit in the shock bucket.

SAW, D/ICON or King will be just fine.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I was planning on getting the billet clamps for the resi's but it looks like I won't be needing those now. You got any pics of where you mounted your reservoirs?

RCD Shocks

Just looks like a shined-up 7100. They're great shocks, running in the rear of my truck right now.

I see, yeah a polished 7100. Got it.

You can kinda see them in this pic.

I don't have any others. In a fit of rage driven by disappointment and sadness I removed the cool ones I had. This was all driven by having to sell my truck and get a gen2 truck which now I am in the pit of despare and drama of the gen2 forum...

If you are going to mount the reservoirs to the frame you don't need them, but it's a tight fit. If you are going to mount the reservoirs to the shock body then go billet, they cost more but look really nice compared to a poly bushing and a hose clamp.

Thanks for the help and advice guys. I was going to put in my order this morning, but the shipping is going to kill me. About $380 just for shipping. It puts me a couple of hundred dollars over my budget. ..... what to do ......what to do.....

$380 for shipping of what???

The entire RCD kit and shocks? If so that's not too bad, considering the RCD kit weighs 255lbs by itself.

yeah and plus it is still cheaper for me to buy online, then get it locally. All the prices here on the island are jacked-up big time. I don't blame them though cause everything here is expensive. I guess I'll just get over the shipping costs and just buy it.
