Bought some used Donahoe Coilovers...need some advice please
Alright guys, so I have been in the market for some coilovers, and I would've bought some brand new from Camburg tomorrow had they had some in stock. Evidently, they have been short on springs for awhile now from Eibach. Anyway, I found a killer deal on Craigslist for a used set of Donahoes. I was gonna bring them to Icon tomorrow to be rebuilt and then install them. The seller was asking $450 for the shocks, and just recently took them off his truck to trade it in. Without me asking, he said to me "I'll take $380 cash for them if you really want them". They look like they are in pretty good shape, besides some powdercoat chips on the springs. He also told me that he just had them rebuilt 3 months ago. Well I just brought them home about an hour ago. Hopefully I got all the pieces to them, there are two shocks obviously, and then the 3 bolts each shock with washers for the top mount and then the four little spacer things for the bottom mount. Am I missing anything?
Well, here are my questions:
1.Would you bring them to Icon anyway to get them looked at, and pay the $120 for them to rebuild them(and have the internal limit spacer removed since I already have new Camburg UCAs), or just leave them alone and see how they are on the truck first. I don't see any signs of leaking or anything. Icon said that they can rebuild them while I wait there if I decide to do that(Icon is about 30 minutes from my house).
2.He said that he had them cranked up to 3" on his 2wd Tundra. I noticed that the collar is pretty far down on the shaft from being cranked. Is that normal? One seems to be cranked down almost an inch more than the other one, probably because the drivers side needs to be cranked more. My truck is a 2wd also, so I don't need to worry about diff drop or anything. I might lower the height down to 2.5 though just like everyone else.
He seemed kinda bummed to get rid of them, and probably for so cheap. He said he already missed his truck, since he just got a new 4cyl Tacoma because he couldn't afford the gas anymore on the Tundra(seems to be a trend lately). Right now I have some Readylift 2.5 spacers, and am looking forward to some actual performance.

Take them to ICON have them check them out and let them tell you.
The drivers side doesn't need to be 1" different than the pass side, it should only be around 3/8 different. This is weird, but maybe he moved one of the collars during the removal process.
ICON will break them down and reset them to what they need to be.
