Default U bolt torque 2007 Tundra

I had a thread going in aftermarket and then learned to read and saw the suspension forum - I have pulled out my jounce bumpers foe airbag install and just need to retorque u-bolts - upon searching, I see a figure of 98 ft/lbs but applied to older vehicles - would this still be an accurate figure for the 07? Or I could do like one post and air impact the crap out of it....

Thanks
Neil

Don't use pneumatics on it! That causes more damage than good. The only thing a big air gun is good for on a vehicle is REMOVING the lug nuts, not putting them back on.

98lbs is for the gen 1 trucks. I don't know if the bolts are larger on this truck or not, but a safe bet would be 115lbs with a torque wrench and then check after 25 miles.

I know the torque specs are around here somewhere.

edit:

SOS rear axle flip kit with new ubolts has torqe specs of 60lbs
RCD GEN1 double cab Ubolts torque specs are 85 - 100 lbs.

I would tighten to 90lbs and check after 100 miles and then again after 500 miles and if all is well, then you're good until you can find out for sure.

Thanks - no I would never use air - noticed that one person did from previous postings. Toxarch replied in the other thread that it is 74 ftlbs. Seemed to feel about right when tightening - they are not huge ubolts.

You should be able to take your torque wrench and figure out pretty cloase by just breaking the torque on a few and finding it that way! Start at about 50 ft Lbs and incrementally go up till ya find it? Not saying that factory torqued it properly but you could go to the dealership and ask a tech what the torques are?

I won't argue with 74lbs. That is in the ballpark for Ubolt torque.
