Suspension & AxleTechnical discussions regarding alignment, stock and modified suspensions, lift kits, axles, hub conversions, gearing and steering.
This is a discussion thread titled "front leveling kit", within the Suspension & Axle forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
If you want to install and forget about it, you must get the kind that requires a spring compressor, or replace upper ball joints before their time, or forget about the whole thing.
Very rarely is something that needs to be done right, done easily.
The only acceptable (more or less) type of spacer is the sort which installs with a spring compressor. It's not hard, search around for old threads on the install, there are plenty.

Hey Devin does this apply to 4x4 only or 2WD too? Thx
Thank you Devin, so by getting Bilstein 5100 then it wouldn't have any of those problems right???
5100's and spacers are basically the same thing exept the 5100's are better shocks then the stock ones, they both compress the coil. There isnt really a good way to level out the truck but the 5100 bils are probably the better way to go
They're not exactly the same thing, the 5100 has a longer shaft so you're getting a little more travel without damaging anything. That applies to both generations.
For an 05, definitely get the 5100s.
You can do a few things to a 2nd-gen that are impossible on a 1st-gen...check out Shane's pictures in the leveling discussion in 2nd-gen.
