This is a discussion thread titled "Oil coming out of Schrader valve in TW Coilovers", within the Suspension & Axle forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
When I was under my truck today measuring how much I should raise it and I noticed two things.
1) Ball joint boot is torn again, grease has leaked out. Makes me want to go get a Total Chaos Arm and forget about this BJBS! ( Balljoint BULL$HIT )
2) I uncapped the Schrader valve on the passenger side coilover and found a small amount of oil inside!
Wondering if this could at all be normal I checked the driver side. The driver side was dry and clean. I have not noticed any difference is performance, but oil on the valve cannot be good. Have you guys checked your valves to see if any fluid has come out? I have contacted Swayaway and haven't had luck contacting Bill West after an email and PM.

Clean it with a q-tip and check it in a week or two. It might be excess fluid from when they were charged.
toyotas are notorious for busted ball joints. The total chaos arms do have uniballs but when those break its a hell of a lot more expensive. Get some limit straps. I know several guys running tacoma long travel from both TC and camburg. One broke the ball joints from camburg, the other broke uniballs from TC. They werent braking after the suspension was limited. I can provide many more exapmles if nessasary.
I do have limit straps already, I suspect the boots are busted when they installed them, because thats the only time the boots are subjected to such extreme angles.

Hey Peter, Sounds like operator error to me Hey I recently threw in the TK A-arms and I do not suffer from BJBS. I am still trying to fight off the pesky OPCVBBS (Outer passenger CV boot). I think I have the upper hand on it right now though.
