This is a discussion thread titled "need help!!!!!! Hellwig swaybar!!!!", within the Suspension & Axle forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Does anybody know if the sway bar will help with cross wind push??? We have been having allot of windy days lately and I find my truck being pushed side to side by high winds. I was thinking that a sway bar may help keep the truck level and help keep the truck going straight. Any thoughts???

I'm not sure. I don't really see how it could but I am not an expert. According to our residend alignment guru, DJ, getting your alignment done will help. Check out his alignment specs.

Santa Anna winds blowing in the mountains of SoCAl get bad; especially the vortex coming up the canyons.
I noticed a definite difference after the Bilsteins and Hellwig. Worth the mods even without the winds since they are seasonal; the mods help year round.
I bought mine at Summit (actually live right down the road from there). The part number is HEL-7641 and will fit 00 - 03. Does not specify 2 or 4 wheel drive, but I would think that it would fit 2 wheel. You could call Hellwig to find out - phone number is 800-367-5480, they are located in Visalia CA. I will be installing mine this week end.
NOTE Regarding the Back Seat "Angle" Modification: Please be aware that the 2000 - 2002 Tundra's have 4 bolts holding the rear seat and the there are 5 on the 2003 Tundra.

just ordered mine. i have a 2001 toyota tundra access cab 4x4 trd. Can't wait to get it. how long does it take to install? with and w/o beer. lol. thanks guys.
Just installed mine Friday. Took about 1/2 hour. Fairly easy to do. The bolt you install on the frame next to the gas tank was a little tight to get too, but other then that it was simple. What a diffence with the swaybay. Kinda wonder why they don't put one on from the factory. Definetly worth the money.
move the u-bolt that hold the sway bar over. It will be closs to the shock mount, but shouldn't hit. If you are looking from the rear, the u-bolt should be to the left of the bracket that holds the brake line. If the sway bar still hit the shock mount, then the sway bar is off center.
