Default Downey Off-road Springs

Curious about the RCD lift for 06 DC 2wd, when you get the 5100's would changing the stock coil spring to a different one such as Downey be beneficial? This is what Downey has on the web for 00-06 tundra "The coil springs are a much heavier duty spring rate. We take Tacomas’ from 480 lbs. to 600 lbs. Tundra’s start at 600 lbs., we take them to 800 lbs." Any imput would thankx help

From my understanding, that would make for a very stiff pavement ride. VERY Stiff.

If you want to really take the RCD kit to the next level here is what I would suggest.

800lb springs on a DC is going to SUCK!!! That will be a really rough ride.

If you put a winch bumper and 10,000lb winch on the front it would be fine, but unladen that thing is going to ride like a tank.

I had 750lb springs on my AC and it was a back breaker.

Get a set of ICONs if you want to get a better ride. They are a perfect fit and ride AWESOME on that DC with the RCD lift.
