Need to beef up my 08 DC 4x4....I've read quite a bit about leveling kits for this truck, but have a couple of questions...
1) Has anyone had any experience with Top Gun Customz 2.25" kit?
2) I plan on hauling a large boat (26' 6000# cruiser) in the future with this truck. Would putting a leveling kit on my truck, cause future problems with towing?
3) I noticed some kits are 2-3" lift in front, but most do not come with the 1" spacer for the leaf springs in the back. To me, If I am going to lift, I want the back an inch higher too! So, my question is, is there any noticeable difference by buying a 2.25" lift for just the front, vs. buying a 3" lift for the front and a 1" spacer for the rear? (please don't say - yea .75"!)
4) Any suggestions out there for one of these kits, which won't cause me problems down the road would be great!!
Best kits out there right now are the Low Range OffRoad (my personal favorite), Truxxx and the Readylift. All are 3/1 kits that come with everything youll need. No problems towing anything with these kits installed either.

Just did a Toytec 3/1 on my buddies 08' Tacoma last week and it came out great. We had a little trouble just because we've never done it before, but after doing one side the other side was cake. The ride is just as smooth as it was before the lift.
I got my Toytec 3/1 coming in on Monday. I'll post install pics after I get it done.
Sweet, that is great to hear.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
I need a favor tho, our message forum at toyteclifts.com/forum really needs some tundra photos with our 3 and 1, can you be so kind as to post those up on our forum for others to see when you are done? much thanks!!!
Got done with my Toytec 3/1 on Monday. I went with the 1" rear block option. It was very straight forward and we got done in half the time it took my buddy & me to do his Tacoma.
The only place we had a little trouble was with the diff drop. The bolts that sit on top of the crossmember aren't tack-welded in place like they should be and it's pretty tight so we had to fight to get them in place. That's a Toyota issue though, no fault of Toytec or their lift.
Thanks for the info you guys have posted. I sure appreciate it!
Another question: My brother brings up an important issue:
Once you level these trucks and you put any kind of load on the back, when traveling at night, doesn't this mess up your headlights and put them right in the face of on-coming traffic?
If so, what is the solution here? Do they make adjustable headlights for this situation?

Has anyone had a problem with this?
Thanks!
Guys - saw no response to my question above! Has anyone had issues with the angle of headlights after putting on a leveling kit? Especially if you have a load in the back?
I Don't trust any leveling kit. maybe it is because I had problems with my trailmaster 2" spacer leveling kit. Did the 1" differential drop. Popping and squeaking noises, grease splattering all over the place. Spend your money wisely on a lift.
Ahhh. cool, thanks for the heads up. I guess my brother was right. So, Toytec, what do you suggest as a LIFT of 3 or 4 inches for these trucks then? And, I assume this is going to co$t alot more now - right? I'd now need to buy shocks in addition to the lift, correct? (2008 Tundra DC 4wd SR5)

Not really. So do you plan on having loads a lot? Because if you are, I would suggest our AAL vs the Block. The AAL give about 1.5 in the rear. So you could go with 2.5 or 3 up front to keep a little rake in the back.
With the AAL, adding 1 1/2 inches to the rear - do they require longer shocks, or would the stock shocks still work? I am thinking the Bilstein's may be the way to go on the front...with full lift of 2 1/2". THoughts?
