Default Toyota rear axles.

Read a post at another site that said all Toyota trucks and SUV's in the North America market use semi floating rear axles but everywhere else they use full floating rear axles. Does anyone know if this is true and if so why we get the weaker setup?

Default Re: Toyota rear axles.

The only recent toyota 4x4 to include a full float rear axle was some 80 series land cruisers. We get the weaker setup because it would be an extra expense that 99% of the population could not justify.
