I am taking a break right now from putting my body lift on. I seem to have run into a snag. The bed bolts that hold it to the frame won't come off. I don't have the right tool for it, and nobody is home right now to take me to get one. I think it is just a hex key, but could be wrong. Anybody got any suggestions?

Been a while since you've been around! If you're going that big, why aren't you just getting a solid axle swap???

It is now 2:00 in the morning and I am still going at it. I have never been this dirty and I just lied to my girlfriend about what I was doing. My body hurts. I still have the fuel hoses to do, steering extension, and mounting back up the bumpers and radiator. I may wait until in the morning. I ended up using a vice grip on the bed, worked like a charm. The cab and bed are lifted and finished. Big difference in height. The MT/R's and Classic II's are supposed to be mounted up tomorrow, provided the wheels show up in the morning from Dallas, and I can get everything finished. Might do a couple of other things then call it a night. On top of all this not one of my friends showed up to help. Just been me by myself since 4 today. Oh well, I don't trust any of them with a wrench anyway. Will post pics as soon as I finish everything. Still waiting for my gap guards to come in as well. So tired, so I keep ranting,,,,,,,night.

a banker, an artist, and a ts club member were all bs-ing over drinks. the banker sez "i like spending time with my wife because of the feeling of trust and companionship we have." the artist tells them he prefers to keep a mistress because of the mystery and passion he feels. they ask the ts club member which he prefers, a wife or a mistress...and bayou thunder goes "both!"

they look at him quizzically, and he says "well, each one will assume i'm with the other, and i can get back to the garage and work on my truck!"

you sound like me working on my front end lift ...my girl has almost forgiven me for taking over her garage for a week and leaving grease stains on the rug

Question Lift coming and a question

My Daystar 2 1/2" w/ Wheeler AAL and Bilsteins are on the brown truck heading this way as we speak. I do have a couple of questions though:
1. I have the 16x8 IS wheels, will the 285/75/16 fit without rubbing?

2. Any one had any trouble with the ABS going to bigger tires? Part of ABS sensors are set to rolling circumference as well as other items. With the bigger tires, what do you do to get the speedo back to correct? Yellow box? new trans sensor? Anyone know how off it is with 285's?

1. no rubbing

2. no problems. there is an equation in the offroad faq (link in my sig) to tell ya how far off your 285s are from stock (it's not much). as to the speed sensor part of the abs, search for anti-lock brake system over at howstuffworks.com, it's educational. basically, the system is looking for dv/dt, not wheel velocity--in other words, you'd have to have a gigantic wheel on there before it made a difference. i could actually calculate how massive this tire would have to be, if anyone knows the spacing from groove-center to groove-center of the abs speed sensor ring on the front wheels where it's read for speed...but i'll tell ya right off hand it'll be elephantine ...

Well guys, its official. I am the proud new owner of a Tundra on 35" MT/R's. I got them mounted up a couple of hours ago. I have to say this, my truck is BIG!!!!!!!. But now I am stuck at work until 9:00 and I can't see it or touch it or be with it. Well, you gotta pay the bills somehow. Tomorrow I have the day off after class so I will be finishing a couple of little things, washing her real good, then taking pictures for all of you to see. Let's just say on the way home heads were turning. Oh, and Lon, be sure to save one of those calender spots for me.
