Default possible deaver spring pack replacements...

thought i'd pass this on to anyone who was interested...

heard some news today about the possibility of some bolt-on, 1" lift, high-quality deaver springs...about 10 leaves or so, decent price as well. sounded like a good alternative to aal and blocks, for you west coast guys (shipping rates might make central and east coast people consider the few other, closer sources). also heard mention of some 3-leaf aal also from deaver, sounds like they would essentially replace the overload leaf and add some functionality in the process.

I have a 2 leaf AAL that with a military wrap they did for me. I am very happy with them with the exeption of the fact that they are a tad squeeky. They put friction pads on the new leafs, but not the old ones and I am too lazy to go back down there or do it myself.

deavers are a dang good spring. FYI you can get the 62" toyota LT leafs and as long as you relocate the spring under the axle and play with shackle length you can choose your amount of lift and have about 16" travel in the rear.

The rear shackles are inverted. It would take alot of fab work to alter the hangers to fit a regular style shackle to get more lift/travel

as a matter of fact, you're absolutely right .

...so much work, in fact, that mike q hasn't had time to start . i'll be bugging him later this week with measurements...if anyone happens to come up with a good way to change things without going to the trouble of transmogrifying the rear bumper as i plan to, holla!

in the mean time, it sounds like the deaver spring packs are available now.

Inverted as in a similar style of the attachment? if so its easy. All you do is drill out the rivits and move the entire shackle assembly higher up on the frame, that way you have a long leaf spring with travel but not tons of lift!

Baja concepts quoted me $175 for the deaver leaf pack. I think for the $100 extra, It would be worth it.

uh...price i heard was ~490 for the custom bolt-on tundra-specific leaf pack. might want to talk to deaver about it, dunno that baja concepts has the correct information (yet--but i suspect they will soon). that's a 10-leaf pack, double wrapped if you want it, bells & whistles etc.

Tundra/Sequoia Product Overview under Tundra rear options.

hehe...silly me...wheeler's currently sells these spring packs. gary sent me a note, something like "you talkin' bout these?" i guess he's been selling them for a while.

here's the link:

http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/tundraleafsprings.htm

those are indeed what i'm talking about. nice to know deaver makes both the coil springs and the leaf packs for wheeler's tundra lift kits.
