Default Save $7000 but can't decide on what kind of lift?

Hello there TS users, I got a problem here. I got a 2001 SR5 2WD Tundra and I do some mild off-roading. Also I have 7000 dollars to spend on a suspension lift and tires/wheels combo. I just can't decide on a lft. I've read the Offroad FAQ and search on this site like forever but I am still debating on a kind of lift. I keep on changing my mind. The main focus is that should I get the long travel kit and get 33's or wait for the RCD lift and get 35 inch tires? Also to add, JD Fabrication might be coming out a long travel kit for the Tundra but I am leaning toward a higher lift like RCD. NO Body Lift! I don't want to have any regrets. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks

The RCD kit wont be great off-road. Im sure you can fit 35's on LT kit w/ a pre-runner bumper. The RCD kit sounds good, Its more of a 6" lift than a off-road suspension system. Long Travel is sweet. Ive seen some good work by JD fab, but I dont know what shocks they are gonna use. I regret getting 33's. Cant do much with them off-road. 35" is the perfect off-road tire. I also regret getting my lift, I just got it 2 weeks ago by the way. I should have got the LT kit instead. Hopefully I can incorporate my lift with some more parts to make it an LT suspension. I already have the total chaos uppers and the Kings, hopefully I can get my hands on some lower control arms, bumpstops, upper heim shock mount, and a steering extension. With that, fiberglass, and the pre-runner bumper Im gonna run 35's.

i'd say the best response may be from the rcd guy on the rcd lift kit thread...where he says the total chaos kit is a step up from the rcd. if you had a 4wd, i'd suggest leaning toward the rcd kit or some custom work, but since you're in prerunner mode, the total chaos and camburg kits would set you up real sweet. i doubt you'd have any regrets with either, also i doubt you'd have any regrets with the rcd lift, but like i said since youre headed the prerunner route, i'd look at long travel. 7k is good for either kit, plus fenders, tires and wheels, installation, and maybe enough left over for a prerunner bar. there are several l/t trucks around here, hopefully they'll post, i don't have any experience with the long-travel kits.

One of my main concerns of the long travel kit is all this fabrication and changing the look. Though it is a kisk *** look, it may just fade out from interest. Also, I only do some mild offroading, probably couple of times every 3 months. With the RCD lift, the only change is the suspension but with long travel you change alot of things. I'm very indecisive but i just want to make sure.
