Default Limited Slip in the Tundra

Just purchased a new 04 access with step-side. It has the TRD sport with the LS. My question is how well does this work??

I had a 2000 Tundra for 3 years and loved it but the LS was not available then. I bought an 04 Taco but just couldn't get comfortable in it so traded for the Tundra.

It works great, it takes pretty hard acceleration to get the rear wheels to spin around a corner.

Snow, that's another story, get 4X4!

We just got dumped with about 10-12 inches! Got justify 4X4 a couple times a year!

Well it just so happens I was out today in Delaware (snow/lots of ice) getting a good feel for the LS in my 03. Driven many vehicles with both open, locked, and l.slip rears. Generally (in my opinion) open rears suck off road, and they don't cause the vehicle to fish tail anywhere as much as a l.s. does. In my Tundra, you can absolutely feel it, much more traction, BUT it will slide sideways on you in 2wd if you get into it. Small price to pay for much better traction. In my older truck (94 V6 XCab) it had an open rear, so I used to ride with 3 or 4 75 lb. "tubes" of sand which stuck the truck so good to the road, that I seldom had to lock in to 4wd. Just a personal thing. Trucks aren't know for having heavy rear ends.
