Default Lsd ????

How can I confirm if a Tundra has a LSD ???

I'm looking at a used '03 Limited TRD 4x4, pretty much every option but
the dealer doesn't know if it has the LSD .

I think it's a safe bet but I'd like to know for sure before I spend my $$$

THANKS

Look at the rear differential...you should see a white sticker on the "pumpkin" that says "LSD". I believe it's packaged with the TRD 4x4 option?

Seee-ya,

Jim.

Seee-ya,

Jim.
Thanks, i'll check that out.

I assumed the TRD package made the LSD standard too but everything I've read shows the LSD as a stand alone option &
the TRD package has

OF Off Road Package

Includes P265/70R16 tires with 16" x 7" alloy wheels, color overfenders, front and rear contoured mudguards, off-road tuned suspension with Bilstein shock absorbers and fog lamps. INCLUDES LF. NOT AVAILABLE with ST.

Hmmm...I have a '02 so perhaps things were different in '03? Do you have the Tundra brochure from the dealer? It should have a chart that covers all the options/packages for each model. I'll check my '02 brochure when I get home and follow-up...

Seee-ya,

Jim.

OK, I checked my '02 brochure and under Access Cab SR5 it shows the LSD as an option after it lists all the "Packages" (Extra Value Package, TRD Off-road Package, etc.) My '02 window sticker shows it as a $275 option. (It was added as an option originally in 2001.)

Hope this helps...

Seee-ya!

Jim.

Look for the sticker on the axle.

TRD and Limited slip are stand alone options not dependent of eachother.

Tacomas are a different story. You have to get the TRD to get their electric locker.

02 was the first year LSD was available for the Tundras from the factory.

Just get them to jack it up till the wheels are off the ground and give a wheel a spin. If both wheels turn the same direction you've got LSD. If they spin opposit directions it's an open diff.

The TRD offroad package does not include LSD...thats a different package as Jim said.
