    Unhappy Power Steering Problem/anyone Else?

I have 25k on my 02 4wd ext.cab TRD. In the last couple of
months my steering as been feeling "different". It almost feels like its stiffened up or the p/s assist has dropped.
At first I thought I was just imagining things but now it drives me crazy! When I drive over dips in the road I feel the steering pull to the left or right. I don't recall this happening before. Bad shock or bad rack? Anyone else have any similar problems or suggestions?
    Thanks!

The rack must stay tight. If you're still under the 3/36 warranty, have the dealership fix it. If you're out of the warranty, have the dealership or a good front end shop do the job.

It's called "bump steer". The likely cause is a steering rack that has shifted to one side. The problem is with the mounting of the rack coming loose.

    Thumbs up loose p/s rack!

Thanks, DevinSixtySeven,agbayani50,KLS,& DJ for your suggestions!
It's amazing how much more helpful Tundra Solutions is than your average Toyota dealership service writer is- ie:
    "never heard of it".
Is this loose rack fairly common? I do not take it out 4wheelin. Just New England potholes...

Since they done the "major front brake TSB" on my truck I have noticed a rattle in the right front. Does anyone know if the rack could be affected or worked on during that tsb.

    Thanks, Mitch

The rattle may be the inside brake pads. Try reversing slow and tapping the brake and see if that is the sound. I know it is on mine, it rattles over some bumps while driving but works just fine.
