I'm gonna buy the TRD LSD I found for $229 on the net and was wondering what other parts do I need to install it.

That's a big job not for the backyard mechanic. You'll need a shim kit and a huge press alone with the proper tools to reset the gears. If you screw it up you'll have to get a new set of gears too. You may also need new bearings since pressing them off sometimes ruins them.

I'll probably be installing my TRD-Eaton LSD differential next week.

You'll be wise to buy a new pair of carrier bearings and the differential gasket kit, although it is possible to remove and replace the same carrier bearings. This kit also includes rear axle seals. There is no shim kit. If the backlash or gear contact is not correct after your fit the new differential, you'll need the correct individual shims from the dealership.

Only a moderate sized puller is needed to pull off the carrier bearings. You'll also need a dial indicator to measure the gear backlash and some red lead or prussian blue to view the gear contact. The instructions are clear, but if you haven't worked with gears and bearings before, it's easy to screw up--everything needs to be installed and adjusted exactly right.

That's a great price.
I had the dealer install mine in my Tundra at 20K, it is now fully warrantied.
I have another sitting in a box to be installed in my T100. I think I'll let my local mechanic tackle that for me.

Make sure you get new carrier bearings, gasket and use the "LSD" additive.

Good luck, it's a great mod.

I've got a question about the TRD LSD for the Sequoia's and Tundra's.....how big of an improvement does it really make?

Have you had problems with one rear wheel spinning and you're not going anywhere?...a limited slip differential will be a help. If you haven't had the problem, and don't think you will, don't buy one. If the surface is equally slippery under both rear tires, both spin with the LSD, and you slip sideways.
