Default Shocks and front springs

Hi All,
I believe I have a blown right front shock. Truck is a 2001 4x4 access cab limited with TRD off road package. When hitting bumps the right front bottoms and also rebounds bad.. The left side seems fine.. My question is: Should I buy the Wheeler front springs along with new HD Bilsteins front and back.. I don't care to lift the back anymore than stock but IMO the front end sits too low in stock trim. The special Wheeler front springs are supposed to level the truck..
Anyone out there gone this route..

Thanks,
Evel

You may have blown a shock or worse. Get it checked out.

At 70K, your shocks and springs are pretty weak. Wheelers coils are great and they do lift the front about 2.5". On the down side they are stiff and you will spew grease from your CV boots. (hose clamp mod will cure this)

Another option would be TRD 4WD coils. These will lift the front a bit, give a smooth ride and not effect your CV boots.

I had Wheelers, sold them and went back to OEM coils with HD Bilsteins. These ride great, maybe a little soft. I just aquired a set of TRD coils.

Good luck

Thanks that was the answer I wanted. BTW I HAVE TRD coils in my truck from the factory.. At least I thought that's what I paid for when I got the TRD off-road package?

Cheers,
Evel

easy to check, just bounce each side of the truck. the good side shouldnt bounce, the bad side will.

the trd shocks & springs that come with the truck (unless you have an IS edition) are fairly soft, they provide a very comfortable car-like ride and flex well offroad, though the stock setup doesnt have much uptravel. wheeler's coils are stiffer, great if you have a brush guard, winch bumper, or brush guard/winch combo.
