I met with an engineer from Daystar today I got to see the 1" body lift that they have just done. It is not yet for sale but coming very soon.
The lift is clean and is partly of Poly bushings and square tubing. The lift is very subtle and looks good. It enables the use of the front engine covers and there isn't a big gap in the back. The kit looks nice.
He thinks the MSRP is $200. Not too bad I thought.
He asked for ideas for suspension. The max lift that they can make is 3".
I told him to make up a 3" body lift, so we may see that in R&D sometime soon.
If you guys have any ideas for Daystar they are very receptive and have a platform for design so let them hear us.
Remember the max they can do is a 3", but that means for one or the other. They can do a 3" suspension and a 3" body for 6".
If anyone has any ideas for Daystar let me know and I will pass them on.

Just wondering if there has been any more news on a 1" body lift kit - I think I may be interested. I could not find any body lifts on the Daystar sight when I checked recently. I am not in a rush - just curious if there is any update. Thanks.

Mmm... 1" body lift... enough to look cool but not enough for it be obvious that it's only a body lift . Post more news as soon as you get it!

I'm not a fan of the body lift at all-just thought you'd like to know... In fact, my cousin was in a accident a couple weeks ago with a Cherokee that ran a red light, which t-boned him. He was driving a truck with a 2" body lift (00' Chevy). Anyway, the wreck caused the cab to come off the frame. It snapped the bolts holding the cab up with the body spacers (broke three vertebre). No I know why they are NOT legal here in Utah. Not worth it?
I do have a question for DayStar: This is kind of off the subject, but I can't ever seem to get any input in to them. I'm also in a Lexus thread, and we can't seem to find anything poly for the early Lexus ES 300's. Can you ask about some Strut mounts, or anything related for a 97-01 Camry/ES 300 suspension. Even the pre 97' guys would buy this stuff up!!! Pleas pass the word to them!
The engineer I met said he was pulled to finish another project but they should be back at it soon. I will try to contact him this week and let him know the amount of interest in a 1" body lift.
re: the question of engine covers. They are flexible and have 1" of room to give. everything stays the same.
re: accidents and body lifts, any over sized vehicle that is being driven can and most likely will cause more problems than a stock vehicle.
The 1" will be nice because it is not lengthening the bolt too far. There is always the risk in anything though.
With any lift, problems can happen. Due diligence is needed to ensure the most safe operating conditions possible- that means CHECKING THE TORQUE ON ALL NUTS/BOLTS ON A REGULAR BASIS. You might even consider changing out any hardware that is not grade 8 or higher.

Just checked Daystar's website. They still have not listed the 1" body lift yet, only the stock body mounts (height) are available at this time with a kit price of $166.38
Daystar's site hasn't been updated. This is straight from Daystar:
