Default Front pad noise on 02 4X4

I have a new noise coming from my right front pads. It is sort of a clunk when backing slowly into the garage and applying the brakes to stop. I can hear it loud enough out of the garage when backing also. The dealer naturally says this is normal for the pads to shift back and forth, well then why is it only happening on the right side? Has anyone experenced this sound or know what I am talking about. I'm still under my 3/36 so would like to get it fixed on Toyota.

Mine do this as well. On mine, they will even "rattle" over certain bumps in the road. It is the inner pads that do that. It's just slightly annoying but everything works fine, has been doing it for quite a while now with no other problems. I know that others have posted as to this noise as well. I never heard them before I had aftermarket wheels installed that are a little more "open" around the brakes. Oh, and mine are the updated brakes from the TSBs.
Maybe crawl under and try to move the inner brake pads by hand, both sides on mine will move and "rattle"

I plan to check everything next weekend for I am do for a oil change and rotation of the tires. The dealer put mine on the rack and checked to make sure that everything was tight, and it was, so they say. I do my own oil changes now after the dealer (not Carson) managed to spill oil over most of the engine bay, grill, etc. I still think that both wheels should be making the same sound because the wear should be the same on. I mean that everything works just fine, the truck stops. It's just the clunk sound that gets my attention.

Default I have the clunk too!

Just took my 02 4x4 in for a myriad of braking symptoms and one of these was the clunking noise when initially going in reverse. As it turns out, the dealer took it for a ride and immediately did the Rear Brake TSB. They took it for another ride and said they will order all parts for the full Front Brake TSB.

I still hear the clunking noise so it must be normal!

I don't know how far you are from 3/36 but I wouldn't wait to get these brake TSB's done. I'm guessing that it would probably cost about $800 for parts and labor if the dealer were to charge you for the work. Under the 3/36 Factory Warranty covers everything.

My service manager said it would have been $1700 for brakes.
