    Question Dropping spindles to lift the front? 03 Tundra

    I heard from a coworker that you can lift the front by lowering the spindles? Is this a good way to go? I was thinking of getting coil spacers but I don't want to stiffen the ride. What are some adverse affects of dropping the spindles??
    Help me out here. All I want to do is lift my 03 Tunder 2.5" in the front. And I don't have thousands of dollars for any major lift work.
    Thanks!!

    lift=lift spindles

    lower=drop spindles

    Dont need thousands of dollars, there are a set of used chaos arms and SAWs on sale in the classifieds that you can get for about a thousand. This would be a optimal choice. Keau

    As far as I know, no one makes any lift spindles for the tundra. The only aftermarket spindle I know of is the one with the RCD lift kit.

    Adjustable coilovers, like TRDKEAU stated, would be the best choice. For a budget lift, spacers are what you want.

    That needs to change. I'd love a 2" lift spindle. Whatever happened to ATS Racing fabbing 3" lift spindles for us?

    It would cost some cash and you could only do them for 2wd (not a big enough market)

    Yes they do, you can do gussets or extend your bumpstops if your concerned. I would only be if your running 35's with heavy wheels and cant drive.

    only if you go custom like the donahoe red tundra of horizontal uniballs from Inland trucks they did custom spindles. You can only do this with a 2wd and its bucks! starting off at $4000 no shocks.

    I don't know enough about spindles to understand this. Why wouldn't they work on 4WD?

    Because you would need to fix all the geometry of the front differential components that just angled another 8-10 degrees. High angle= high stress, thats why tuff country and RCD have complete kits and not just spindles their entire kit keeps the angles pretty much stock. 2wd guys dont have to worry AS MUCH.

    hmmm. just seems like camburg or total chaos could easily make some lift spindles for a 2wd then. if they already make replacement spindles, they would just need to make them a lil different...

    Nobody makes a bolt on lift spindle for the Tundra. I doubt they ever will due to the distance of the arms. Take a look at how long the factory spindle is. As it is there is a shearing factor because it is not gusseted. Make that 3" longer and its a saftey issue. On other vehicles the arms are not so far apart and even the lift spindles made for those trucks are not even as tall as the stock spindles on our Tundras.

    For a budget lift, you can get spacers for the front around $100. I was gonna go that route on mine, but the ride with the stock shocks sucks so bad........its like being on a boat that floats all over the road. Im gonna go with King or DRE bolt in coilovers when i get my tax return.

    I'm going to go with King coilovers too. I hear good things about these and they're just as easy to put in as spacers and they won't stiffen the ride.

    .

    lift spindles are not any taller than stock spindles. they are the exact same height. the difference is where the mounting point for the wheel is. the lift spindle just lowers where teh wheel mounts, thus lifting the truck.
