Default help- mom drove '04 sequoia w/ park bk on...

Yup- took the kids to see the folks and my mom drives the '04 sequoia back after dropping my wife off to 'get some quality time on her nails'. Evidently, mom was more concerned with my two rug rats in the back to notice the parking brake light on...drove about 6 miles with the PB set (not set too hard- no brake fire, no smoke, just some smell).

Any idea on the pb assembly? It now squeals loudly if you back up with the pb set...is the pb a set of shoes on the driveline or on the inner hub of the disc in the rear? Just want to make sure the brakes are 4.0 and don't want to dig in there unless I need to just yet.

I'd take it in to the dealership for a brake inspection. And send Mom the bill.

I don't know how the setup is on a Sequoia but it sounds like your park brake shoes or pads are glazed. You can sand off the hard glaze and be back to good brakes again as long as the rotors are OK.

Default Are parking brake shoes same as rear rotor pads?

Does the PD set the rear pads on the rotors or is there a separate set of pads for the pb like my old 911?

There is a set of brake shoes inside the rear rotors, that is the parking brake.
I would have them inspected, de-glazed and then re adjusted.
then send mom the bill.
