This is a discussion thread titled "Front Sway Bar Question", within the Suspension & Axle forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Has anyone driven their truck on the road with the factory front sway bar disconnected? Some people over on the YotaTech forum are saying that they have had theirs disconnected for years and that they ride fine. I am going to disconnect mine and try it out, but I am just curious if anyone else has tried this - I am running the TW front coilovers which may make it a little more forgiving around corners.
Thanks!

Would this allow a little more travel?

i drove around with mine off for a while after i installed the donahoes and upa's. it seemed to me like the truck glided over bumps, was a lot smother, but was intresting around corners, a lot of role. kinda felt scarey a fiew times b.c the back inside wheel felt like it was comin of the ground when cornering hard lol. to me it seemed like he suspension was more freed up to do its job better whith the sway bar unhooked. i might unhook it b.f i go out to the dezz tho. but iam deff leavin it on for street driving.

Mine has been permanently stored behind my weight bench to rot . And yes, it made a very noticable difference in the articulation and still feels good on the road, maybe the 210 psig of nitrogen that I am running in my SAW's helps out with the rode manners. It does roll a little more around hard corners, but not enough to worry about since I tend to drive a little slower in the Tundra anyways.

Oh yeah one more thing, now that I have removed the sway bar and my front end is allowed to flex more, I noticed that the Total Chaos arms were hitting the lip of the upper coilover bucket when compressed - my trusty grinder fixed it quickly though . The inside of both arms (driver's & passenger's on the front side) were scratched where they had hit before while on the trail, I just never could get it to flex enough off the trail to notice it until the old sway bar went bye-bye today .
