Default 3 1/4" lift possible without Ball Joint Issues

Just got 2 1/4" of lift with Wheelers Coils. I also added the 1" diff drop spacer kit. Can I add an extra 1" spacer to lift it even more without any Ball Joint issues ???? I couldn't seem to find an answer through the search function if the 1" drop allowed a little more lift to be put in.

Thanks

Once you start lifting, your stock parts will start to wear more excessively. Going more than 2.5" will be too extreme. To help out you can upgrade to the TC uni's and not have to worry about ball joint boots and the such. Also, consider changing out your rubber bushings with poly bushings. Another item from TC is the rod ends, consider those once they are available.

The diff drop spacer helped out on the CV angles but not the ball joints.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies...

So....

Change to new UCA's such as the Chaos and then lets say I add a 1/2" spacer...Does anyone make one a 1/2" spacer ???

Mike, I understand about the CV joints and the diff spacers, I have heard some say 2 to 2 1/2" is Ok without the diff spacer so one would think adding another 1" would still be OK for the CV Joints when you add the diff spacer. Probably doesn't quite work that way. Anyone drop the diff 1 1/2" to 2". Haven't researched that at all....just asking.

Thanks again for the info..

do you really get 2.5" of lift out of the wheeler's coils? is that measured before and after from the hub to fender?

another company to consider in the UCA area is Camburg. They're about $150 cheaper...but they're "not as beefy"...the Total Chaos may be overkill on a street driven tundra though.

definately get the UCA's before you try to go any higher.

2 1/4" Exactly..measured from Hub to wheel opening both sides and from ground to frame. The best part is that these were slightly used and should be "settled" already.

So if I get new UCA's I could add another 1", concerned about the CV Joints though..

Before I installed my UCAs, the boots around the stock bolts were spewing greese... definitely didn't look good. This was simply with Wheeler's coils... no extra spacer. I'd highly suggest just going with new UCAs from the start.

Ha! Let's just put it this way... I'd feel acomplished if I DID break my Camburg UCAs!

the diff drop spacer moves the axle down 1/2", not 1". the drop is at the front only, not front and back mounts for the diff.
