Default Shocks

Well, looking at upgrading my shocks. I would like something that is all-around better. It's hard to describe, but I feel the stock shock can be "confused" when you vary it's conditions too quickly. I'd like to find a replacement that is civilized, but can react better to my driving habits.

How do the TRD (red/blue) shocks compare to the stock bilsteins, as part of the TRD Off-Road package?

Also, how does the Bilstein HD's compare to both of those?

This makes a comparison difficult. The pricing you've quoted is also *insanely* cheap. Where did you find those prices? I'd love to buy them at that cost! It seems Toyota either changed part #'s, or the Double Cab's use different shocks.

I am basically trying to decide between sticking with my Yellow TRD Off-Road bilsteins, already on the truck, or if I should upgrade to the Billstein HD, Bilstein 5100, or the TRD Red shocks.

Prices range from $269 (HD), $820 (5100), or $340 (TRD).

Looking at cost, now, it's really down to the HD's, or the TRD's. Thoughts?

The post I referred you to was originally from 4 years ago, so the pat numbers and prices have probably changed. However the comparison information would be accurate.
