Default Adding LSD and/or Lockers to a 2wd SR5 Tundra

Im in the process of gathering more information regarding the continued upgrading of my 2wd Tundra. So far I have the engine taken care of, next will be suspension, tires & wheels...etc..
I don't have the TRD model, just the base. Im thinking I should add LSD, since I will be going off road. Im not planning on doing major rock climbing, just some trail riding, maybe a little climbing along the trail?? What should I do in addition? Maybe LSD in the rear and locker in the front? Since I don't have 4wd, I want to have the next best thing available to a 2wd truck. Most of my adventures would be in the desert, so sand is a consideration in this equation. Im pretty new to these types of mods...anyone able to shed some light and offer a possible set-up best for my situation?

First off, since you are only 2WD, you won't need anything in the front as you don't have a diff in the front. Either go with the TRD LSD, Powertrax No-clip or the ARB unit. A locker would be too much for what you are looking for. So, I'd suggest TRD or Powertrax. Do a seach on both. Price is about the same. The TRD takes a little more to install as the carrier bearings have to be pressed onto the TRD unit.

The electrac is not offered for the tundra axle housings and the Elocker on the tacomas is not compatible for the tundra axle housings. However, the Elocker can fit the tundra housing with some modifications. A member on this board was tinkering with the idea but, if I remember, ended up canning the project as it would take too much modifications. The only selectable locker offered for the tundras is the ARB. Oh yeah, when I mean search, search on this board. You'll most likely get more info than google. Also, there is no "dumb" questions. Just make sure you search before asking.

I searched and shopped and decided the TRD/KAZUMA/EATON was the best for my needs.

I'm on pavement 99% of the time and drive it like I drove my 400hp GTO.
I just don't smoke the tires much in my Tundra.

The little offroad driving that I do includes fields, gravel logging roads,
construction sites - nothing to slow.

If I need more traction or want to tame the rear end a little I just press the little button on the dash and mash the gas

I got lucky and bought a used 3rd member with LSD off of ebay for $175.00 + shipping. So far no problems after right amount of friction modifier was added to gear lube.
