Default Stock Rubber Shock Bushings Squeaking!

My 01' has the stock TRD Bilsteins on it and I need to replace the lower shock bushing on the passenger side. After looking for a nasty squeak that showed up about a month ago, I finally located it. It's coming from the right front lower rubber shock bushing. I shot some lube on it and it immediately went away for about an hour. I looked a little closer and it looks like the upper 1/4 of the rubber bushing has been crushed or has at least lost some of it's bounciness so I figure it's time to replace them.

Has anyone had to replace these yet? I haven't had a chance to measure them yet, but was wondering if anyone knows what size those bushings are and if I should go with a flat or hourglass style? I'm not sure if they're 5/8 or 3/4 bushings.

Hey, mine did the same thing, but they didn't squeak. Check my pics, as the '03 TRD bilstein shock has a different lower bushing. After replacing mine with the '03s the ride was firmer at first, then it got smoother.

Did you replace the whole shock with the '03 or just the bushing? I called a local dealer and they said they carry the top bushing, but not the bottoms and that it's part of the shock. Were you able to swap them out?

imjin,

I found the '03s on ebay with only a few hundred miles on them, so yeah, I swapped the shocks out. I wonder if Bilstein sells/warrants just the lower bushing? Doesn't look like the '03 bushing will fit the '01 shock due to the thickness of the lower bushings' outside 'race'.
