Default 2wd stock front end lift!

Just thought i would share this info.

I recently raised my 2wd about an 1.5'' in the front using stock parts.

I used stock springs and shocks off a trd 4wd tundra. The springs do come in different length.
The ones I used are 48131-AF090 right $112.53 48131-AF100 left 112.53. The shocks are bilstien 48510-09350 46.47 each.

There is one more spring offered that is longer. It realy did make a difference in appearence and ride. I had people notice as soon as they seen the truck after it was done.

Thanks for sharing iforce=horses. A few questions....

Did you have to adjust the headlights?

Did it do anything as far as mpg?

Did you have to realign the front end?

What color were the Blisten shocks you used?

Does Kim like the way it rides? (Kathy would sure as hell wants to know before I did any of this.)

Thanks,
Dan

BTW...looking forward to seeing the new and improved Tundra you have.

yes i had to realign the front end. I used the yellow and blue shocks. The headlights were fine. I did not notice any difference in the mpg.

And yes Kim does like the way it rides better.

Unhappy Mod-of-the-Month

PM sent from nhparrot

Dan,
For Mods to be a Mod of the Month they must be submitted to the appropriate Garage forum - not a general forum.
Glenn
So iforce=horses, if you would like your mod to be considered for the Mod-Of-The-Month, you'll have to post it in Garage Forum.

Anyways, ya got my vote!

Great mod!

Dan

Well I sure hope this works because I just ordered those same springs. Although I also bought a set of the red/blu 4x4 Bilsteins to go with them. Hopefully it will raise my frontend and give the truck a little stiffer ride. Was either this or the Cornfeds. Decided to be a little different and try the springs. Thanks for suggesting this option "iforce=horses".

Talking Installed!

All,

I want to thank iforce=horses for this mod suggestion and for taking the time to answer my PM's for further information. I appreciate his time and am VERY happy with this mod.

I ordered the springs from Steve at Carson a couple weeks back and they arrived this past week. They were installed on Friday and I couldn't be happier with the way things seem to have turned out. The front end was raised about 1.5" as expected and now looks 100% better in that it sits level. The gap over the front and rear tires is identical.

Sometime in the near future I hope to upload a couple pics of the new stance. I highly recommend this mod!!
