Question Do I need to install my AALs?

I need your advice.

I recently installed a 3" front lift on my 2004 DC. When finished, I noticed the truck was completely level. I plan to install some 305/70/16s this week and was wondering if I needed to lift the rear to fit them and if anyone else lifted their front but left the rear stock?

Thanks

IMPO... with 3" of lift up front, I think you'll definately need the AAL's if not Blocks!

Don't know whether this will help or not, but HERE'S what I did with a lift on my DC. I only went with a minimal 2" lift. After installing the new coils up front and setting the truck back on level ground, it was obvious, that the front was a little bit higher than the rear, so we added the TRD AAL's. I think the pictures in the provided link, will kinda' speak for themselves.

In any case, if you've got 3" up front, I'm almost certain, you'll have a rear-end "squat" to your truck. Especailly if your DC is 2WD! In that case... you'll definately need the AAL's. But honestly, whether your DC is 2 or 4WD, I think you'll be gald you put them on in the end.

I'm getting my 305's installed tomorrow...All I have are Donahoe coilovers and bilstein 5100's in the back. I got the BFG Mud Terrains 305x70x16 and Mickey Thompson Classic II's with 3 5/8 backspacing...I'm taking off the mud flaps and warming up the dremel and keeping my fingers crossed. I'll let you know how it works out.

installed the 305's today with no problems or rubbing. I had been going back and forth deciding between 285's and 305's for the last couple of months after doing a lot a research on this site....I'm sure glad I chose 305's..Good luck

SdMike -- thanks for reporting back in. I have been going through the same thought process. I have a 4x4 and I am not sure how much of a diff. that will make but hearing another person went with 305s makes me more confident. I am going to order mines today. I am going with firestone destination MTs.

I can pick them up locally for around fro $190 installed and have 30 days to change my mind. gotta love that!!!

Post some pics!!!

Man it is a good thing u live on the west coast b/c folks might get our vehicles confused

My tires should be in either today or thurs. My UCAs came in last night. I am still contemplating a DIY install.

As for the rear end, she looks kinda squatted every once and a while depending on where I am parked. If we get a warm day or I decide to DIY my UCAs, I will likely install the AALs.

I will also post pics as soon as she is all together.

Thanks for info and pics.
