Default Need Advice:06 Dc 4wd, Cornfed/Revtek/Daystar?

Need Advice:06 Dc 4wd, Cornfed/revtek/daystar I need advice and opinions please! Wanting to do a 2.5 lift. Money is not really an issue between the three. Wanting to try to maintain factory ride or better. Very little off roading, mainly snow. Basically for looks with a bigger tire prob. 285 75 16 on a mt classic II. Several unanwsered questions: aluminum or steel, spacers on top/bottom/or in, differential drop kit or not, blocks or aal, limit straps or not, factory shocks or bilstein trd's front and back, will the spacers rust or not, and do i need to change the cv boot clamp? anwsers to these questions would be greatly appreciated. can anwser on tundra solutions or email me with thoughts and or pictures tjvance55@yahoo.com. just bought my tundra last week and am itching to raise the thing. all the lifts i have seen on here are awesome. thanks for any advice or opinions!

Well any lift is going to change the ride. Better than stock...well that's a matter of opinion I guess. The ride will be stiffer than stock. If it is merely for looks basically I would either get the Toytec spacer lift or wait for the OME/Toytec lift that will give a better ride than a spacer lift. The Toytec lift has an in the coil spacer for the 2.5" lift. If you only go 2.5" you really don't need a diff drop either. With 2.5" of lift and 285 tires you will have some minor rubbing...at least I do anyway. I would go with the aluminum spacers over steel, AAL instead of blocks, and you can keep your stock shocks if you want and you don't need limit straps. Hope that helps some. Oh and you might get more responses on this in the Tacoma forum.

Like (TacomaOffRoadGrl) said... "any lift is going to change the ride. Better than stock...well that's a matter of opinion I guess. The ride will be stiffer than stock. However, I do disagree with (TacomaOffRoadGrl's) last comment, about NOT needing a diff drop kit. As proof of that take a look at THIS THREAD, which was started just yesterday. That said... you're definately going to have to address this issue with 2.5" on a Tundra. In fact, that's "part" of the reason, I only went with a 2" lift on my DC. But other than that... I concure with (TacomaOffRoadGrl). Also, if your do decide to go with 285's, you will need those mt classic II's. It's the ONLY way you'll get those 285's under a DC. Even with those however, you'll more than likely have to remove your front mud guards, as other TS.com members (with DCs) have had to do.

If you've looked at the link, which I provided on my lift, then you know I'm not a big fan of spacers, as I believe coils are a little better alternative. But that is of course, just "my" personal opinion. I certainly can't completely disagree with spacers, as there are MANY Ts.com members who have them on there Tundras. Having said that, I'll leave this one up to what "you" would prefer.

I'd say... "YES". Reference my comments above.

Again I have to agree with (TacomaOffRoadGrl) on this one. I think you'll enjoy the ride much better with AAL's over blocks.

Subjectionable... at best. However, if you DO plan to off-road any, then I would CERTAINLY remcommend them. Nothing would spoil your day any worse, than a blown-out shock.

Your preferance. Obviously most TS.com member "do" upgrade, when they do a lift. In my case however, I already had the TRD package with the bilsteins, so I just used what I had. If you're considering the HD bilsteins, then that too, might stiffen the ride a little, so just keep that in mind as well.

Can't subjectively give you an answer here, since I don't have them. I would however, think the machined steel might hold up better.

It's certainly possible. It might even be a good idea to do it anyway, as a precautionary measure, BEFORE the grease leaking can even being... if it even does... that is.

Well there ya' go... I've played 20 questions with ya' now. Hope the answers help...
