Suspension & AxleTechnical discussions regarding alignment, stock and modified suspensions, lift kits, axles, hub conversions, gearing and steering.
This is a discussion thread titled "Troubleshooting: Cv Boot", within the Suspension & Axle forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Like most of you, I also have experienced the CV Boot spewing grease deal on my 2004 Toyota DC 4wd with the 3" ToyTec lift. Toyota has agreed to replace the boots under warranty which I wasn't expecting. However, it took an act of congress and for me to sign off on a document to convinced them to use hose clamps instead of the OEM clamps. That is where I am right now. My contingency plan is to get the Bates 930 CV Boots to replace the inner CV Boots and to get the Downey Lower Cv Boots and replace the lower boots. Will give an update on the situation. Hopefully, the hose clamps cure it. However, I like the idea for more heavy duty boots being used in the past.
