Special Service Tool 09950-4001 1

Does anyone have the above listed Toyota Special Service Tool? I called SPX and they want something like 1,000 for it. It is a tool that is used to both release, the upper ball joint from the UCA and press the old one out of knuckle.

I know there are other ways to do this, but if I can get my hands on the specific tool to make the job as easy as possible, life would be good.

I think harbor frieght and otc sells a ball joint removal kit

i went to kragen and i rented one for 12 bucks...

I know there are universal sets available, but I am just trying to understand how this tool works.

Since you mention renting the universal tools, I assume that you means you have done this job.

Did you remove the knuckle to change the upper? Did you use any type of lube to press the new BJ in? Any tips would be apprecaited. I have never done this and I don't want it to turn into a 2 day project.
